Who Am I?
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Board-approved supervisor for those seeking clinical licensure (LPC), and ICF Certified Life Coach. I am a Portsmouth, VA native, wife, mother of (2), and 2014 graduate of Old Dominion University’s Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.
In general, my philosophy stems from the foundations of positive psychology, which is founded on the belief that people WANT to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, to cultivate what is best within themselves, and to enhance their experiences of LOVE, WORK, and PLAY. I am dedicated to being a partner in improving your functioning and bridging the gap between you and your best self. There are many potential benefits of practicing positive psychology including an increase in self-esteem, improved relationships, and a greater outlook on life. I provide support in the art of happiness, which emphasizes that gratitude, social connection, and kindness are all important to living our best lives. However each client is different, and the approach does vary based on where the client is in their introspective journey.
R.I.S.E. is more than just my job, it is my PURPOSE. Yes, I am licensed to practice therapy independently in the state of Virginia, but really…I’m just a person. A person’s who’s lifelong goal has been to help others develop the necessary tools to live a life that they enjoy. “Bridging the Gap Between You and & Your Best Self” is not just a tagline, it highlights my genuine intent and emphasizes that there is more to life..more to you, and I’m here to help you bring it out!
